INTERMEDIATE FUEL ACCUMULATOR

FUEL PUMP discharges high-pressure fuel to intermediate Fuel Accumulator.

Intermediate Fuel Accumulator reduces pressure ripple caused by FUEL PUMP. One of its major functions is that it maintains pressure when pump plunger or pump cover's back flow valve is fixed with buildup or the pipe between FUEL PUMP and intermediate Fuel Accumulator is damaged.

When pressure surpasses max. pressure, Pressure Safety Valve drops the pressure.
