SHAFT TORQUE METER & SHIP PERFORMANCE MONITORING SYSTEM
Product Description

OUTPUT INFORMATION ON COMPUTER SYSTEM MONITOR

SEMOS will present continuous output information about measured and calculated values to the monitor. The output information available will be dependent on type of vessel and machinery configuration. All output information will be presented in SI unit according to system specification and various output information can be selected from the pull-down menu.

Instant Data Output - Numerical Values:

All measured and calculated parameters can be output to the monitor and printer.

Graphical Presentation :

It provides presentation of performance curves where the actual condition is indicated as a plot in the graph with numerical indication and deviation from the performance curve.

SEMOS includes a graphical presentation of four major propulsion characteristics:

- Revolution - Shaft Power curve
- Shaft Power - Ship Speed curve
- Fuel Consumption - Ship Speed curve
- Shaft Power - Specific Fuel Rate curve

Accumulated Values

The following accumulated data on present voyage are available for output on the monitor.

SEMOS includes a graphical presentation of four major propulsion characteristics:

- Voyage elapsed time (hrs)
- Shaft total revolutions (rev.)
- Shaft total energy (kWh)
- T/G output (kWh)
- Fuel oil to boilers (tons)
- Gas to boilers (tons)
- Equivalent fuel to boilers (tons)
- Total sailed distance by speed log (N.miles)
- Total sailed distance by GPS (N.miles)

Voyage Simulation

Based on the vessel’s current behavior, the system will present estimated values for fuel consumption, shaft power and rpm at the new speed. It can be used to estimate how much fuel can be saved by reducing the speed or how much it will cost to raise the speed.

Logging History (Short-time trend)

Logging History (Short-time trend)

This mode is to give the operator a graphical visualization of the variations of any four selectable parameters over a time period for the last 24 hrs. This is useful tool for optimization of vessel performance through trial and error, as the effect in any change of operational characteristics will show up immediately on the history graph. Long-time Trend This long-time trend analysis is a statistical tool to detect changes of recorded performance parameters over time. Change of vessel performance parameters due to wear, erosion or fouling may develop very slowly. In spite of daily variations up and down of performance parameters, it can sometimes take years to record any significant permanent changes.

Performance Trial

On request the SEMOS will carry out a performance test of the complete plant and calculate efficiencies of main engine, propeller and hull. All data will be integrated over a special time period to ensure high accuracy and repeatability. At the end of the trial period a report can be printed out with time and date, system constants and recorded and calculated data. In relation to plant or component deficiency, increase in fuel consumption is quantified.

Reporting

The following reports are available.

- Print copy function of all display modes
- Daily Report : Accumulated data for last 24 hr
- Voyage Report : Accumulated data for last voyage
- Performance Trial Report
